Best whiskey bars in Las Vegas: bourbon, Scotch & cocktails

THE STRIP & DOWNTOWN · YOUR NIGHT, YOUR WAY

Choose a whiskey bar by the kind of evening you want, not just the length of its bottle list. These ten Strip and downtown picks range from cocktail-led hideaways to casino lounges, a Fremont saloon and dedicated cigar venues. Some suit a conversation over a carefully chosen pour; others add live entertainment or a lively crowd. Compare the current menu, ask about the serving size and confirm availability before ordering a rare bottle.

Official venue information checked 1 November 2026.

Whiskey Down

An approachable whiskey selection in a casino lounge

Whiskey Down is a useful starting point for visitors who want a clear whiskey focus without planning a whole evening around a tasting appointment. MGM Grand lists more than 50 American, Canadian, Irish and Scotch choices, alongside whiskey cocktails. The lounge seating makes it possible to build the visit around a conversation, while its casino-floor position keeps the setting unmistakably Vegas. Start by naming a style and budget rather than reaching straight for the rarest label, and check the music schedule if you prefer a quieter drink.

The Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails

Whiskey in a hidden saloon with live-night energy

The Barbershop makes sense when the whiskey should come with a strong sense of occasion. Behind the working barbershop sits a saloon with rich finishes, couches and a drinks identity that deliberately nods to classic whiskey bars. It is an attractive choice for a group split between a serious spirit and a cocktail, with live entertainment adding another reason to stay. The trade-off is volume: a featured band night is a very different experience from quietly comparing Scotch, so choose the session as carefully as the bottle.

The Shoppes at Mandalay Place

1923 Prohibition Bar — Mandalay Bay

Bourbon cocktails in a bookcase-entry hideaway

The Mandalay Bay branch of 1923 is the choice for a bourbon stop with a little theatre. Finding the bookcase entrance gives the visit a sense of discovery, while barrel-aged cocktails and a Prohibition-style lounge give the drinks a coherent setting. It works well as a deliberate south-Strip pause rather than an incidental casino-floor order. Ask about current bourbon choices or a private tasting enquiry if your interest goes beyond one cocktail. On entertainment nights, the room becomes a livelier adult venue rather than a silent tasting lounge.

1923 Prohibition Bar — The Venetian

A north-Strip bourbon hideaway with entertainment options

The Venetian branch gives bourbon drinkers a different way to use the 1923 concept without travelling to the south Strip. The hidden-elevator entrance and richly furnished room make it feel like a planned discovery within the Grand Canal Shoppes. Choose it when a cocktail, a whiskey enquiry and an evening’s entertainment all appeal, while recognising that its programme is not identical to Mandalay Bay’s. A standard bar visit, NOLA Nights and a separately booked performance can involve different arrangements; decide which experience you want before reserving.

Eight Lounge’s warmly lit bar and seating at Resorts World Las Vegas05Strip
Resorts World Las Vegas

Eight Lounge

A wide spirits menu in an explicitly cigar-focused lounge

Eight deserves consideration for the depth of its whiskey menu, not simply its polished room. The published list ranges across bourbon, rye, Scotch and other international styles, giving an enthusiast more to investigate than a short cocktail list. It is particularly suited to someone who also wants the cigar-lounge experience, with the humidor and smoking environment central to the venue’s identity. That is also the deciding limitation: this is not the right recommendation for a smoke-sensitive guest, however appealing a particular bottle or flight may look.

Whiskey focus
Bourbon, rye, regional Scotch and international whiskies; flights appear on the menu.
Venue type
Cigar and cocktail lounge at Resorts World; smoking is part of the experience.

Planning

The bar and lounge seating at Montecristo Cigar Bar in Caesars Palace06Strip
Caesars Palace

Montecristo Cigar Bar

Whiskey and cigars in a central-Strip setting

Montecristo is a central-Strip option for visitors who intentionally want to pair whiskey with a cigar. Caesars Palace presents it as a premium cigar bar with fine whiskey and a substantial viewing screen, so the attraction is a combination of spirits, smoking and a comfortable resort setting. It belongs on a whiskey shortlist as a specific kind of evening, rather than a universal recommendation for every drinker. Check the current spirits selection and choose your budget before ordering; rare labels and pairing experiences should be confirmed directly.

The Tangier’s bar and patterned lounge seating at SAHARA07Strip
SAHARA Las Vegas

The Tangier

A north-Strip lounge with a substantial brown-spirits selection

The Tangier gives whiskey drinkers a worthwhile north-Strip alternative to travelling across town for a single pour. SAHARA describes more than 200 brown spirits, including bourbon, Scotch and cognac, so the attraction is a broad selection in a convenient lobby lounge. Its classic, retro-inspired surroundings make it suitable for a considered drink before another resort plan. Ask the bartender to narrow the choices by flavour and budget; a large spirits list is most useful when it helps you discover something you actually want to drink.

The Venetian Resort

Delmonico Steakhouse bar

Whiskey-led cocktails or an after-dinner Scotch at a steakhouse bar

Delmonico is the restaurant-bar choice for visitors who want whiskey to sit naturally alongside a substantial dinner. The official menus include whiskey-based cocktails and an after-dinner selection of Scotch and other whiskies, giving a spirits enthusiast something to explore beyond the wine list. Its appeal is an elegant steakhouse setting with a drink chosen for the occasion, rather than a dedicated late-night saloon. Enquire about bar access if you only want a pour, and confirm the current selection before arranging the evening around a particular bottle.

An Oak & Ivy bartender finishing a craft cocktail with a torch09Downtown
Downtown Container Park

Oak & Ivy

Craft whiskey cocktails and a personal flavour conversation

Oak & Ivy is the downtown recommendation for someone more interested in how a whiskey becomes a good drink than in a huge entertainment room. The bar’s identity centres on American craft whiskey, barrel-aged creations and seasonal ingredients, making it a natural place to discuss a spirit-forward style with the bartender. Its Container Park setting also gives the evening a different character from a resort lounge. Ask for an approach that suits your palate rather than ordering something smoky solely for the spectacle; balance matters more than a dramatic garnish.

Whiskey focus

Whiskey Licker Up’s upstairs saloon overlooking the Fremont Street Experience10Downtown
Binion’s Gambling Hall · Fremont Street

Whiskey Licker Up

Whiskey cocktails with a rotating-bar Fremont view

Whiskey Licker Up is the fun, outward-looking choice on this list. Above Fremont Street at Binion’s, the rotating bar and retractable windows make the surrounding action part of the drink, while a dedicated whiskey and bourbon selection gives the name substance. It suits friends who want an Old Fashioned or a familiar bourbon in a lively saloon rather than an academic tasting session. The point is the combination of the menu and the view, so check where you will actually sit instead of assuming every table revolves.

PLAN YOUR NIGHT WITH CONFIDENCE

Best whiskey bars in Las Vegas: your questions

Which Las Vegas whiskey bar should a beginner choose?

Start with the atmosphere you want. Whiskey Down offers several whiskey styles in a casino lounge; Oak & Ivy has a craft-cocktail focus; 1923 adds a hidden-bar setting. Tell the bartender what you already enjoy, whether you want a cocktail or neat pour, and your budget. You do not need a rare or expensive label to find a style you like.

What is the difference between whiskey, whisky, bourbon and Scotch?

Whiskey and whisky are alternative spellings used by different producers and traditions. Bourbon and Scotch are distinct whiskey categories, with their own production rules and flavour ranges; neither is a guarantee that a drink will be smoky or sweet. Use a bar menu as a starting point and ask about the particular bottle rather than choosing by spelling alone.

How do I avoid an unexpectedly expensive whiskey order?

Confirm the exact label, age or edition, serving measure and price before the pour. Ask whether a cocktail, flight or pairing has a separate charge and allow for tax and any service charge or gratuity. A menu listing does not guarantee stock, and two similarly named bottles can have very different prices. It is fine to give a clear budget first.

Are all of these whiskey bars suitable if I dislike cigar smoke?

No. Eight Lounge and Montecristo are explicitly cigar venues, where smoking is part of the experience. A ventilation system does not make a cigar bar smoke-free. Choose another setting if smoke is a concern and confirm the environment with that venue, particularly for bars on or near a casino floor.

Can I reserve a tasting or combine whiskey with live entertainment?

Some venues accept private whiskey-tasting enquiries, while others list flights, live music or separate entertainment sessions. These are different arrangements. Check the branch, date, booking inclusions, minimum spend and cancellation terms directly. The Barbershop and 1923 in particular can feel much livelier on performance nights than during a simple cocktail visit.
