10 best themed bars in Las Vegas: tiki, hidden doors & ice

STEP INTO A DIFFERENT WORLD

Strip & downtownThemed bars
10VEGAS BIBLE
PICKS
THE STRIP & DOWNTOWN · YOUR NIGHT, YOUR WAY

A great themed bar gives the whole evening a setting, not just a colourful cocktail. These ten Vegas Bible picks offer different worlds: a snowy cabin, tropical tiki, an actual ice room, theatrical hidden entrances and a downtown Prohibition exhibit with a working bar. Choose the experience you want, then check entry rules, minimums and music before going.

Official venue information checked 1 November 2026.
Golden Monkey Tiki Lounge’s tropical decor at Resorts World01Strip
Resorts World Las Vegas

Golden Monkey Tiki Lounge

A tropical tiki escape without leaving the Strip

Golden Monkey is the clearest choice here for a tropical change of scene. Resorts World pairs playful tiki decor and golden monkey figures with island-style cocktails, giving the room an identity beyond a standard casino lounge. Classic tiki names such as the Jungle Bird and Scorpion provide a starting point if the menu feels unfamiliar. We would choose it for a colourful early-evening gathering and compare individual cocktails with the serving sizes of the larger sharing bowls.

Theme
A modern tiki lounge with tropical decor, golden monkey statues and island-inspired cocktails.
Hours
Published daily 5pm–midnight.

Ski Lodge’s winter-cabin bar inside The Cosmopolitan02Strip
The Cosmopolitan · Chelsea Tower

Ski Lodge

Snowy-cabin escapism in the middle of Las Vegas

Ski Lodge works because it commits to an unlikely setting: an après-ski cabin inside a Las Vegas resort. A forest snowfall beyond a picture window, a fire and winter-lodge styling create a complete mood rather than a decorative corner. Cocktails and Superfrico pizza make it practical for a relaxed food-and-drink stop as well as a novelty discovery. We would choose it when the group wants a playful change from neon and casino floors without travelling outside the Strip.

Theme
A hidden winter cabin with simulated forest snowfall, a year-round fire, cocktails and Superfrico pizza.
Hours
Mon–Thu 2pm–2am; Fri–Sun noon–2am.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Entry
21+; individual parties are walk-in. Private bookings have separate arrangements. Ask about current food-service hours.
Ghost Donkey’s brightly decorated cocktail bar at The Cosmopolitan03Strip
The Cosmopolitan · Block 16

Ghost Donkey

A colourful Mexican-inspired cocktail hideaway

Ghost Donkey brings a Mexican fiesta sensibility to a small, tucked-away room, using bright colour and a focused tequila-and-mezcal programme to make the concept coherent. It is a stronger choice for this list than a lounge whose only theme is luxury: the spirits, decor and playful mood all point in the same direction. We would choose it for a compact cocktail stop after food nearby, particularly for someone interested in exploring agave spirits rather than ordering a familiar casino drink.

Theme
Mexican-inspired hospitality, vibrant decor and a tequila-and-mezcal cocktail programme.
Hours
Sun–Thu 4pm–midnight; Fri–Sat 2pm–2am.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Entry
Inside Block 16, Level 2. Reservations are not required, according to the resort; space is subject to availability.
Official minus5 ICEBAR photo from the LINQ Promenade venue gallery04Strip
The LINQ Promenade

minus5 ICEBAR

An actual ice-room experience with cocktails

minus5 is the most literal immersive theme in this guide: the room, seating, sculptures and drinking glasses are made from ice. The LINQ location gives the experience a convenient central-Strip address, with protective outerwear supplied as part of the visit. We would choose it for a planned novelty stop rather than judge it against an ordinary bar’s drink prices. Compare the entry packages carefully, because paying to enter does not always mean cocktails are included in that package.

Theme
An ice-built room with sculptures, ice glasses, music and coloured lighting; gloves and outerwear are provided.
Hours
Sun–Thu 11am–midnight; Fri–Sat 11am–2am, according to the LINQ venue listing.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Tickets & ages
Paid entry packages; cocktails depend on the package. Ages 7–12 may visit before 9pm with an adult under the operator’s family rules. Alcohol is 21+.
The Prohibition-inspired 1923 bar at Mandalay Place05Strip
The Shoppes at Mandalay Place

1923 Prohibition Bar

New Orleans and Prohibition-era character

1923 turns the idea of stepping back in time into a useful South Strip night out. A hidden bookcase leads to a New Orleans-influenced Prohibition bar, with bourbon-led cocktails and entertainment giving the setting more purpose than a photo opportunity. The ordinary no-cover admission policy also makes it easier to try without committing to a full package. We would choose the Mandalay Place branch for a characterful drink, checking the calendar first if live entertainment is the main attraction.

Theme
A bookcase-entry Prohibition bar with a New Orleans influence and bourbon-focused cocktails.
Hours
Sun–Thu 11am–midnight; Fri–Sat 11am–2am.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Entry
21+ with valid photo ID. Regular entry is first come, first served with no cover or minimum spend. VIP bookings, ticketed shows and private events are separate.
The Barbershop’s hidden whiskey saloon at The Cosmopolitan06Strip
The Cosmopolitan

The Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails

A working barber-shop front hiding a whiskey saloon

The Barbershop uses a convincing everyday front to make the reveal feel theatrical: the barber shop is real, while the room behind its janitor-style door becomes a whiskey-and-music saloon. That contrast is the reason it belongs among themed bars, rather than simply on a list of cocktail lounges. We would choose it for a group wanting a little discovery followed by live entertainment. The saloon programme matters more than the haircut menu when planning an evening here.

Theme
A real barber-shop entrance conceals a richly finished whiskey saloon with live music.
Hours
Saloon Sun–Wed 8pm–2am; Thu–Sat 6pm–2am. The venue notes that hours may vary.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Plan ahead
Check the saloon’s performance calendar, dress code and table terms. Barber appointments and evening reservations are separate.
The Lock’s atmospheric hidden bar at Horseshoe Las Vegas07Strip
Horseshoe Las Vegas

The Lock

A cabinet-of-curiosities setting with a puzzle-led entrance

The Lock makes the route to your drink part of the entertainment. Its place within The Cabinet of Curiosities, a safe-room reveal and a riddle-led arrival give it a stronger story than a bar concealed behind an ordinary door. We would choose it for a group that enjoys a playful challenge and wants the booking to feel like an occasion. Read the timed-session and drink-minimum rules before reserving, because the interactive concept comes with more structure than a casual casino stop.

Theme
A hidden speakeasy reached through The Cabinet of Curiosities, with a Locksmith, a riddle and a safe-room entrance.
Hours
Published daily 4pm–midnight.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Booking
90-minute reservations; two-drink minimum per guest. Main-room parties are 1–5, with separate VIP arrangements for larger groups. Walk-ins depend on space.
Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den’s hidden-bar setting at Resorts World08Strip
Resorts World · Famous Foods

Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den

A Singapore-influenced Prohibition cocktail setting

Here Kitty Kitty takes its identity from a Singapore-influenced Prohibition concept, giving its hidden-bar setting a different reference point from the American whiskey saloons elsewhere on the Strip. Its placement within Famous Foods adds to the contrast between a busy food hall and the cocktail room beyond. We would choose it when already exploring Resorts World and wanting the evening to change mood without another journey. Ask about the current music programme if a quiet conversation is important to your group.

Theme
A hidden Vice Den with Singapore-influenced mixology and a Prohibition-inspired concept.
Hours
Sun–Thu 6pm–midnight; Fri–Sat 6pm–1am.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Plan ahead
Published attire is casual. Confirm seating and the current entertainment programme; the resort promotes a Friday vinyl-led DJ concept.
Coyote Ugly performance bar inside New York–New York Las Vegas09Strip
New York–New York

Coyote Ugly

The film-famous performance-bar concept

Coyote Ugly is the deliberately high-energy choice: the recognisable performance-bar concept is built around bartop dancers, DJs and participation rather than an intimate cocktail ritual. That makes the theme active, with the entertainment shaping the room instead of just its decor. We would choose it for a group who actually wants that style of evening and leave it off a quiet-date itinerary. Check the programme and admission details for your visit rather than assuming every hour has the same show.

Theme
The Coyote Ugly performance-bar concept, with bartop dancers, DJs and a party atmosphere.
Hours
Sun–Thu 6pm–2am; Fri–Sat 6pm–3am.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Plan ahead
Check current entry charges, event times and table options with the resort. A lively performance setting is the point of the visit.
The Underground’s Prohibition-era speakeasy inside The Mob Museum10Downtown
The Mob Museum

The Underground Speakeasy

Prohibition history surrounding a working cocktail bar

The Underground has something most themed bars cannot offer: an actual museum context for its Prohibition setting. Artifacts, exhibits and a working distillery sit alongside the basement speakeasy, giving the cocktails a connection to the history being presented. We would choose it for a downtown afternoon or evening that mixes a drink with something to discover, especially when the live-music calendar fits. The bar-only side-door option is useful if a full museum visit is not part of your plans.

Theme
A 1920s Prohibition speakeasy within a museum exhibit, with period artifacts, cocktails and a working distillery nearby.
Hours
Sun–Thu 11am–11pm; Fri–Sat 11am–midnight. Check early closures and private events.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Entry
Speakeasy access is 21+. Included with Museum General Admission; bar-only guests can follow the current password and side-door instructions.
PLAN YOUR NIGHT WITH CONFIDENCE

10 best themed bars in Las Vegas: your questions

Which themed bars are actually on the Las Vegas Strip?

The first nine picks are at Strip resorts or the LINQ Promenade. The Underground is downtown at The Mob Museum. This guide excludes off-Strip tiki bars, even when their names are familiar; Golden Monkey is the Resorts World venue.

Is an ice bar included in the price of one cocktail?

No. minus5 is a paid-entry experience with different packages. Some include drinks and some do not, so compare the full package rather than only the admission headline. Gloves and outerwear are supplied; follow the operator’s current age and entry rules.

Which themed bars make sense for non-drinkers?

A setting can be enjoyed without alcohol, but check the actual menu and booking terms. The Lock expressly says non-alcoholic drinks count towards its two-drink minimum. Ask other venues about mocktails, minimums and table charges before reserving.

Can children visit these themed bars?

Do not assume so: adult nightlife venues commonly restrict access. minus5 publishes a specific family policy allowing ages 7–12 before 9pm with an adult. That exception does not apply to the other bars; check each venue directly and bring appropriate ID.

Do all hidden or themed bars need reservations?

No. Ski Lodge does not take individual-party reservations; The Lock uses timed reservations and a drink minimum. Regular admission to 1923 is first come, first served, while VIP seating and ticketed shows have separate terms. Use the current venue instructions for the experience you want.
