Put your MGM number on the booking

For every US$1 of eligible hotel folio spend, MGM awards four Tier Credits and one MGM Rewards Point. Add your membership number to your own reservation. At check-in, confirm it is attached to the folio. Participating dining, entertainment, spa and other charges can earn when billed to that folio.

When ordering at an eligible outlet, tell the server you want to charge to your room. Check that the outlet can charge to your specific hotel and that your offer covers the purchase if you plan to use resort credit. A charge can post to your room without being eligible for a particular credit.

Say you already plan to spend $320 on the room and $80 on eligible food before tax and tip. That $400 earns 1,600 Tier Credits and 400 MGM Rewards Points at base rates. The same eligible spend earns that base amount whether you hold Sapphire or Gold.

Coin-in measures wagers, while theo estimates the long-run cost

Coin-in is the running total of stakes through a machine, including credits you win and wager again. A hundred $2 spins produce $200 of coin-in. Your cash outlay and the amount you win or lose are separate figures.

Theoretical loss, or theo, estimates the expected cost of play over time. A hypothetical 8% house edge on $200 of wagers gives $16 of theo. Your actual result can be very different. This example uses a made-up edge and explains the concept. MGM does not publish a universal coin-in requirement or a theo-to-comp formula for its Vegas offers.

Earn when you are staying somewhere else

Show your card before paying at a participating MGM restaurant or bar. The same four Tier Credits and one point per eligible dollar apply. Ask if the outlet participates, especially at leased restaurants, and keep the original itemised receipt. Taxes, tips, comped amounts and corporate cards are excluded.

If you booked through a third party, the nightly room rate is excluded. Some add-ons, such as eligible resort fees or early check-in, may still count. Eligible direct show or attraction tickets purchased separately can earn Tier Credits. MGM excludes T-Mobile Arena events from that ticket earning route.

Slots and video poker can earn three balances

Carded play on eligible slots and video poker can earn Tier Credits, MGM Rewards Points and Slot Dollars. Insert your own card before playing and check that the machine recognises it. Earning varies by machine, wager, game and denomination, so two machines can credit differently on the same coin-in. Redeemed FREEPLAY does not earn.

For predictable points and tier progress, use the published rate on a qualifying room or meal you planned anyway. If an eligible purchase fails to appear, request an adjustment with the original itemised receipt within 90 days.

Have your live table play rated

At a casino table such as blackjack, craps or roulette, give your own card to the pit supervisor before play and ask them to confirm that you are rated. Eligible table play can earn MGM Rewards Points and Tier Credits, with minimum requirements and rates based on the game, average wager and time played. Slot Dollars are a separate machine-play balance. MGM excludes promotional chip redemptions from earning.

There is no published MGM-wide rule that one table game earns most. Stick to the game and limit you would otherwise choose. Raising stakes to reach a tier can cost more than the resulting perks.

Ask the poker room about cash games and tournaments

Live player-versus-player poker has room-specific rules. Give the poker desk your rewards card before you sit and ask what the game earns, whether tracking is hourly and how to redeem any room comps. Bellagio, for example, publishes $3 per hour in comps specifically for its $10/$20 no-limit Hold’em game. That rate describes one game and one room.

Confirm tournament and cash-game terms separately. MGM’s general table and machine earning guide gives no programme-wide rate for live poker, so verify whether the room awards points, Tier Credits or only a local comp before counting on any of them.

Apply points before paying

Ask a participating outlet if it can take MGM Rewards Points and request redemption before paying. For a hotel bill, speak to the front desk before settling the folio. Keep your government-issued photo ID and MGM card handy. Eligible non-gaming points take seven days to become redeemable, so do not budget on using new dinner points the next morning. Eligible gaming points can be available the same day.

Keep the earning year and status year straight

The Tier Credit earning year runs from January through December and the annual balance resets on 1 January. The benefit year runs from 1 February to 31 January. For example, if you earn Gold in November 2026 under standard rules, you unlock the benefits then and normally retain Gold through 31 January 2028.

At Sapphire, six months without earning Tier Credits or Slot Dollars can cost you your MGM Rewards Points and Slot Dollars. Pearl and higher tiers are protected from inactivity forfeiture of those balances. Check the expiry of individual offers separately.

How to use earned Slot Dollars and promotional FREEPLAY

Slot Dollars are a balance you build from eligible machine play or receive through an eligible Mastercard points redemption. At a participating machine you can convert them to FREEPLAY. Promotional FREEPLAY is a separate way to get the same type of play credit, for example as part of a targeted casino stay offer.

At a participating Las Vegas machine, insert your MGM card, enter your PIN and follow the on-screen option for Slot Dollars or FREEPLAY. The rewards desk can help set up your PIN and confirm eligible machines. Check which resort your offer covers, its expiry, whether a stay is required and when the credit loads. FREEPLAY can only be used for eligible play and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Gold and above can save on a direct stay

The daily resort fee waiver applies to qualifying direct reservations when the member holds Gold or higher at the time of the stay. MGM permits up to two rooms per trip when both are booked in that member’s name with their MGM number attached. All-inclusive packages are excluded, as are convention, trade show and group bookings unless billed to the qualifying member.

Check the final bill and ask the front desk to verify the waiver if you recently reached Gold. Compare the total you would actually pay, including taxes and any remaining fees, against other rates for the same dates and room.

Bring the physical card for parking

Pearl and above receive eligible complimentary self-parking. Gold and above can also get complimentary valet at participating properties, subject to availability. Carry the current physical rewards card, including on event days. Check the resort and event policy before arrival if you are counting on free parking.

Separate a better view from a suite offer

Gold and higher can ask about an enhanced room at check-in. The hotel can improve the view or floor within the same booked category if available, with suites excluded from this standard enhancement. Platinum and NOIR may see a separate annual standard-room-to-standard-suite offer on an eligible direct Las Vegas booking of up to three nights. Look for that offer when booking if the suite matters to your trip.

Where to find the priority hotel check-in line

Gold, Platinum and NOIR members can use the priority check-in line at participating MGM Las Vegas front desks. Look for the MGM Rewards sign in the lobby and have your tier card, photo ID and reservation ready. If you see a separate VIP desk or several queues, ask the lobby team which one is serving your tier and booking at that hour.

The priority line helps at the front desk. Room readiness still depends on occupancy, and access to a private lounge depends on its own terms. MGM Mastercard holders can also check their separate card benefit. Mobile check-in is another option at hotels that support it.

Does MGM Gold come with a Bellagio VIP Gold Key?

MGM Gold gives eligible members priority check-in. Bellagio’s public terms do not list a VIP Gold Key as a standard MGM Rewards benefit. Follow the access terms on your own booking or invitation. Bellagio also explains that the crossed gold keys on its concierges’ uniforms signify membership in Les Clefs d’Or, a professional concierge organisation.

Ask about Tower Suite or Chairman’s access by name

Bellagio publishes VIP concierge and preferred dining and show reservation service for its Chairman’s Suite. If you have a Tower Suite or Chairman’s Suite reservation, ask the hotel where you should register and which lounge it assigns to your exact booking. Bellagio does not publish a universal lounge admission rule for all Tower Suites.

Bellagio · VIP Lounge

The lobby VIP Lounge offers private check-in, concierge service and refreshments. Bellagio lists a $150-per-night lounge add-on for eligible Fountain View King and Two Queen rooms, and a $200-per-night VIP Arrival Experience with airport transfers for selected suites such as Salone, Bellagio and Cypress. Certain luxury suite bookings include lounge access and transfers. Prices and inclusion depend on your booking.

If your invitation mentions a VIP Gold Key, ask Bellagio VIP Services at 702-693-7311 or vipservices@bellagioresort.com which room or lounge it covers and where to collect it.

ARIA · Tower Suite VIP Lounge and Sky Suites Lounge

The ARIA Tower Suite lists VIP Lounge access with refreshments, concierge service and its own registration desk. ARIA Sky Suite guests have their own Sky Suites Lounge and registration. Check your confirmation to see which suite and arrival privileges you have.

Vdara · Hotel front desk

Vdara publishes its own hotel check-in and concierge details. Its public guest information does not specify a separate private rewards lounge or room package for lounge access. Ask the Vdara lobby team about priority check-in for your tier and booking. ARIA’s Sky Suites Lounge is a separate booking benefit at ARIA.

The Cosmopolitan · Priority Lounge Check-In

The resort lists Priority Lounge Check-In for Bungalows and Chelsea Penthouses. If you received a casino invitation or booked a different room, ask which arrival desk your confirmation gives you and whether it includes lounge access beyond check-in.

MGM Grand · Gold Lounge, VIP Lounge and SKYLOFTS Lounge

MGM Grand’s property map labels separate Gold, VIP and SKYLOFTS lounges. The hotel publishes private check-in and exclusive lounge access for SKYLOFTS stays. For the Gold and VIP lounges, the map identifies the locations without giving a complete admission policy. Ask the lobby team which desk handles your tier, reservation or host invitation.

The Signature at MGM Grand · Tower check-in

Use the Signature’s own lobby or follow your reservation’s arrival directions. The Signature publishes front-desk and mobile check-in information, with no published tier-based private lounge entry. Ask The Signature directly about your booking rather than planning to use the MGM Grand or SKYLOFTS lounge next door.

Park MGM · VIP Check-In

The Park MGM resort map marks a VIP Check-In point by the hotel lobby. The map does not specify which tiers can enter, guest limits or refreshments. Ask at the Park MGM front desk whether to use that area or the signed MGM Rewards priority queue.

The Reserve at Park MGM · Separate hotel arrival

The Reserve has its own entrance and hotel check-in information, even though it connects to Park MGM. The resort’s FAQ directs rewards enquiries to the MGM Rewards desk on the casino level by Dolby Live. The public arrival terms do not describe a dedicated tier lounge. Ask The Reserve desk about any invitation or VIP arrival arranged on your booking.

New York-New York · VIP Lounge Check-In

The hotel lists VIP Lounge Check-In for the Two Bedroom Penthouse. The resort places the lounge by the Bell Desk in the hotel lobby. If you booked another room or have a host invitation, confirm access with the hotel. Ask about check-in and lounge use during the stay separately.

Excalibur · MGM Rewards Priority Check-In

The official map marks MGM Rewards Priority Check-In in the hotel lobby. Follow the lobby signs or ask a desk agent which queue is serving your tier. The resort does not publish a general private hotel lounge benefit. Casino-host arrangements are handled separately.

Luxor · VIP Lounge check-in

Luxor lists exclusive VIP Lounge check-in for its Tower Two Bedroom Penthouse. The property map labels the VIP Lounge in the lower lobby. For another suite, tier or casino invitation, ask the resort whether that booking uses the lounge or the front desk.

Mandalay Bay · VIP Lounge and arrival packages

Mandalay Bay lists a VIP Arrival Experience for select rooms and suites at $175 plus tax per day, including lounge access during opening hours and an airport transfer. Its separate Butler Experience for eligible suites also includes lounge access and in-suite check-in. Confirm which package your booking includes and whether early room access is available.

W Las Vegas · VIP Lounge and Welcome Experience

W Las Vegas has its own VIP Welcome Experience for eligible suites, listed at $125 plus tax per day. It includes lounge access during opening hours, airport transfers and a curbside welcome. Select higher-end suites can book the separate Butler Experience, which also includes the lounge and in-suite check-in. Confirm access with W Insider for your reservation.

Three ways a casino comp can show up

An upfront offer is a deal you can book before a trip. The invitation may arrive in email, by mail or in your account and can include room nights, resort credit or FREEPLAY. The offer controls which properties and dates qualify and whether you can use it with another promotion.

Points redemption uses the balance you have already earned, usually at an eligible outlet or the front desk. A discretionary checkout comp is different. Casino marketing or a host may review your tracked play and decide whether to cover eligible charges that remain. Keep enough in your budget for the full bill and ask what they can apply before you pay or use mobile checkout.

Check both Rewards and the room booking flow

Sign into the MGM Rewards app with your own account and tap Rewards to see balances and available member benefits. To check room pricing, use the hotel booking flow while signed in, choose the property and your actual dates, then inspect the offer details. Trips is where you look for an existing reservation. The signed-in MGM Offers page is another way to check available deals.

Offer availability can change by account, property and travel date. MGM does not publish a universal day when every member’s casino offers refresh. Check after a visit and again before you book. Save the offer confirmation so you can check the booking deadline, resort credit, eligible nights and cancellation terms later.

When a host can help

For straightforward offers, start with self-service booking or the rewards desk. MGM’s host teams assist eligible casino guests with room reservations, events and dining. Ask the property host team about eligibility before arrival if you need help with a specific invitation or reservation. MGM lists resort contacts in its casino directory.

Before checkout, ask for an itemised folio. Confirm that any upfront credits have posted, ask about a review of remaining eligible charges, and settle what is left. Clarify resort fees, taxes and gratuities separately. An invitation, high tier or a losing session alone gives you no guarantee of extra comps.

Start with the wording on your booking

A casino offer can include a resort credit for specific eligible charges during the stay. Ask the front desk for the eligible locations and categories tied to your reservation. Meals and drinks at participating outlets are the first place to check. Some offers may also cover select spa treatments or entertainment. Ask before buying retail, using a third-party venue or charging at another MGM hotel.

Confirm whether the allowance is per night or per stay and what it excludes. Keep room charges, resort fees, parking, taxes and gratuities in your budget unless your terms confirm coverage. Gaming uses a separate FREEPLAY offer where available.

Food and beverage credits use their own outlet list

MGM publishes a list for its Food & Beverage Credit Offer, including Bellagio Patisserie and The Mayfair Supper Club at Bellagio. The offer tells guests to charge eligible purchases back to their room. Check your own offer and the outlet before ordering because a casino resort credit and a food-and-beverage promotion can have different rules.

If the venue and purchase qualify, give the server your room details, keep the signed receipt and check the folio before checkout. Ask whether a same-day or cross-property charge will qualify before relying on it.

The Iconic card credit works differently

The $200 Iconic benefit must be redeemed by the primary cardholder at the rewards desk during an eligible stay. MGM converts it into MGM Rewards Points. The card page lists eligible room charges such as resort fees, dining, spa and entertainment as examples of use. Have the desk confirm what it can apply the points to and ask it to do so before settling the bill.

The Vegas daily accelerator runs through 31 December 2026

Earn 5,000, 10,000, 20,000 or 40,000 eligible Tier Credits in a single Pacific Time promotional day and MGM adds 1,250, 5,000, 20,000 or 60,000 respectively. You receive only the highest qualifying bonus for the day. At the standard non-gaming earn rate, the first threshold alone represents $1,250 of eligible spend, so treat it as a bonus on plans already in your budget.

Stay-related charges can count on the day they post, usually around 2 am Pacific. Cosmopolitan hotel folio charges are excluded from this promotion, though eligible gaming and eligible purchases paid directly can count there. BetMGM, MGM Rewards credit card earnings and activity outside participating Las Vegas resorts are excluded.

Get the most from a day you already planned

Check the day’s qualifying credits in MGM Rewards before paying. If the tracker shows 4,300 and you already planned a $200 eligible dinner before tax and tip, paying at a participating outlet with your card could add 800 credits and bring you to 5,100. That qualifies for a 1,250-credit bonus if all activity posts on that same Pacific Time day. Two days below a threshold cannot be combined.

Ask when a room charge will post if your total depends on it. Present your card at purchase or attach your number to an eligible folio, and check the posted activity. Taxes, tips and comps do not count. If a purchase was missed, MGM says an adjustment must post that promotional day to qualify for the bonus. Keep planned spending as your ceiling.

Two earned milestones give you a start in 2027

Reach 50,000 eligible Tier Credits in 2026 for 7,500 rollover credits in 2027. Reach 125,000 for 25,000 rollover credits in total. MGM says to allow through 31 January for the credits to post. These are defined milestone bonuses, so your whole 2026 balance does not carry forward.

Qualifying members can claim celebration credits of $100 at Gold, $200 at Platinum or $500 at NOIR as MGM Rewards Points. Claim at the rewards desk within 12 months of earning the benefit.

How to claim the Platinum flight benefit of up to $600

Earn 200,000 Tier Credits in the same January–December earning year to qualify. MGM caps the credit at $600 and bases it on the eligible paid ticket price. There is no $600 minimum fare. For example, MGM can award $420 for a qualifying $420 fare. The remaining $180 cannot be saved for another trip. The desk issues MGM Rewards Points or FREEPLAY instead of a cash reimbursement.

Book your qualifying MGM stay directly in your own name, and book and complete the associated flights within 12 months of qualifying. You must be checked in at an MGM Rewards resort in Las Vegas, Beau Rivage or Borgata on that trip. Visit the MGM Rewards desk during the stay with your rewards card, matching government-issued photo ID and the itemised airline or travel receipt. The receipt needs your full name and travel dates that match the stay. Take the original printed receipt or be ready to open the original digital receipt in your travel account. A screenshot will not qualify.

MGM counts the paid ticket price including eligible upgrades, excluding baggage fees, pet fees and onboard purchases. A companion’s paid fare may count when shown on the same itinerary and receipt under your name. For a ticket booked with airline miles or points, leave the value of the miles out of your estimate. MGM’s published rules do not say whether cash taxes or fees on an award ticket qualify. If you booked an award or a package, confirm with MGM what part of the receipt it accepts before relying on the credit. Qualifying NOIR members can receive up to $1,200 in total, subject to separate credit rules.

The 2026 competitor match closed on 30 September

MGM stopped accepting new applicants to this published challenge at the end of September. Members approved before the deadline had a 90-day window to meet their assigned requirements. Gold challengers could qualify for an extension through 31 January 2028 with 40,000 eligible challenge credits. Verify any future campaign before travelling to the desk with another casino card.

Link two accounts at the same address

Two eligible members who live at the same address can link their accounts. Go to an MGM Rewards desk together with valid government-issued photo ID. Keep your own membership numbers and cards. Use your own card for play or eligible payments, and have the hotel confirm whose MGM account is attached to the folio. One room charge does not earn twice.

Linking can share certain benefits. Personalised offers still depend on the named member and the specific invitation. Check both accounts when booking and ask the desk which benefits apply before relying on two people receiving the same reward.

Some bonuses are combined and some stay individual

MGM counts combined eligible Tier Credits at 31 December 2026 for the 2027 rollover and posts the bonus to the primary account. Two linked members can qualify for separate Platinum airfare credits if each individually earns 200,000 Tier Credits, with redemption limited to one credit per receipt and room.

Track the daily Accelerator on your own account

The daily Accelerator checks each member’s qualifying activity separately. If each of you earns 2,500 eligible Tier Credits in a day, those two totals do not combine to trigger a 5,000-credit bonus. MGM says a status upgrade earned through an individual’s eligible spend under the promotion applies to both linked accounts.

Marriott status goes one way

Link your accounts to match MGM Pearl to Bonvoy Silver Elite, Gold or Platinum to Bonvoy Gold Elite, and NOIR to Bonvoy Ambassador Elite. Marriott status does not give you MGM tier status through this partnership. Compare the booking terms before choosing a Marriott or MGM rate, especially when you expect a fee waiver or credits.

Eligible linked members can exchange spendable points in either direction at 10 to 8, with a 1,000-point minimum and a 30,000-point annual limit in each direction. Check the value of the redemption you want before moving points.

Cruise perks apply on eligible sailings

Qualifying earned Gold, Platinum and NOIR members can get select annual Royal Caribbean or Celebrity sailings for two. Gold starts with an oceanview room, Platinum a balcony and NOIR a junior suite or concierge class, subject to availability and the offer. The onboard and annual cruise perks are currently limited to US and Canadian residents. Include taxes, port fees and travel to the port when valuing the offer.

On eligible partner sailings, give your MGM number at booking and use your SeaPass card for rated casino play. Eligible tracked play can earn MGM balances. Onboard FREEPLAY and non-gaming spend are excluded.

Southwest counts qualifying stays, rather than nights

Southwest Rapid Rewards members can get 600 airline points for a qualifying paid stay at listed MGM Las Vegas resorts. Give the desk both account numbers and elect to earn Southwest points at check-in. Consecutive nights count as one stay and the current list excludes The Cosmopolitan.

Keep myVEGAS rewards separate from casino status

myVEGAS loyalty points buy individual app rewards such as eligible hotel or entertainment offers. Read the reward’s own dates, booking channel, premium redemption limit and any paid-stay requirement. Match the account details to your MGM membership and check usable dates and fees before building a trip around a reward.

Link your own accounts and keep the balances separate

For eligible US BetMGM activity, verify that your BetMGM account is linked to your own MGM Rewards membership. Ask BetMGM support to check the link if activity is missing. Qualifying bets can earn MGM Tier Credits for your yearly status and, where offered, a separate BetMGM Rewards Points balance. The earnings depend on the product, wager and jurisdiction.

Check the MGM Rewards app or website for your MGM Rewards Points and Tier Credits. BetMGM shows its own points. Promotional bets, unsettled bets and cashed-out bets can be excluded. BetMGM earnings are excluded from the Las Vegas Daily Tier Credit Accelerator.

Convert eligible BetMGM points in the Rewards Store

In BetMGM, open My Account, then BetMGM Rewards, then BetMGM Rewards Store. Where your account offers the exchange, redeem BetMGM Rewards Points for MGM Rewards Points and use the resulting MGM balance toward eligible hotel, dining or entertainment charges. Read the exchange rate, availability and posting estimate shown for your account before confirming.

Check Nevada registration and sportsbook terms

BetMGM offers a Nevada sportsbook app for eligible adults aged 21 or over. New Nevada customers complete registration in person at a participating sportsbook after starting verification. The operator’s rewards terms vary by state and product, so confirm the current earning terms in Nevada before expecting both types of rewards.

The Cosmopolitan confirms that qualifying wagers placed with an MGM Rewards card at its BetMGM kiosks and betting counter earn Tier Credits. Ask the sportsbook staff to attach the account before placing a qualifying wager.

UK BetMGM has its own rewards terms

BetMGM UK publishes a separate rewards offer. If you use the UK app, check its terms before assuming any activity will earn Las Vegas MGM Tier Credits or convert into MGM resort points. For travel, make sure you use the correct regional product and meet local eligibility rules.

World Elite Mastercard, no annual fee

Earn three MGM Mastercard Points and three Tier Credits per eligible US$1 at MGM Rewards destinations, two of each at eligible petrol stations and grocery stores, and one of each on other purchases. The card includes Pearl status for qualifying cardholders and eligible self-parking. The upgrade gives you Pearl benefits without depositing 20,000 Tier Credits.

Iconic World Elite Mastercard, $249 annual fee

Earn six MGM Mastercard Points and six Tier Credits per eligible US$1 at MGM Rewards destinations, two of each at eligible hotels, restaurants, petrol stations and grocery stores, and one of each on other purchases.

The card offers a $200 resort credit at opening and each card anniversary. To claim it, the primary cardholder must be checked in at a participating MGM resort and visit the rewards desk within 12 months of earning it. The desk converts the credit to MGM Rewards Points. The anniversary night benefit of up to $250 and 10,000 bonus Tier Credits each require $25,000 in eligible annual card spend. Compare the fee with benefits you would use on trips you already planned.

Iconic also offers a Priority Pass digital membership for participating airport lounges. Check activation and visit charges in the card terms. Airport lounge membership is separate from the VIP check-in and suite lounges at MGM hotels.

Card points and casino earnings post separately

You can redeem MGM Mastercard Points for MGM Rewards Points or Slot Dollars. Card-earned Tier Credits can help your annual status and qualifying rollover. They are excluded when MGM calculates the Las Vegas Daily Tier Credit Accelerator. Qualifying spend at a resort can still earn its regular on-property credits when your membership is attached.

The issuer posts purchase earnings after the monthly billing cycle, with MGM allowing extra time for them to appear. If you carry a balance, check what the interest would cost before valuing any card rewards.

Compare your offer with the real cash price

Sign in before you shop. Compare any targeted comp or discounted room with the member cash rate for the same property, dates and cancellation terms. Read the offer for blackout dates, included nights, resort fees and where the credit works. Value resort credit against purchases you already want and treat FREEPLAY as promotional play in your budget.

A simple example is a $60 usable dining credit on a room that costs $40 more all in than the same room booked without it. The credit can save you $20 if you would already spend the full $60 at an eligible outlet. If you would only spend $25 there, the offer effectively costs $15 more.

A first trip from the UK

Join for free if you are 21 or over, then take your passport to a rewards desk and use the same name on bookings. Compare the US dollar price with your card’s exchange rate and any overseas fees. You can still earn ordinary MGM Rewards on eligible spend as a UK visitor.

At arrival, confirm the account number on your folio and keep a copy of receipts. At checkout, ask about any eligible points or offers you can use before paying. Check balances after the trip and note your Sapphire inactivity deadline if you have points left.
