DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS · YOUR NIGHT, YOUR WAY

Downtown is more than a single bar crawl beneath the Fremont canopy. These ten picks range from a 60th-floor cocktail terrace to a 16-seat hideaway, a historic Fremont East bar and a creative Arts District stop. Choose the mood and the neighbourhood first, then build a manageable route. The Arts District is part of this guide, but it is not the same block as Fremont Street.

Official venue information checked 1 November 2026.
Legacy Club’s outdoor sunset terrace above downtown Las Vegas01Downtown
Circa Resort & Casino

Legacy Club

A dressed-up sunset with a downtown skyline

Legacy Club is the special-occasion choice when downtown drinks should feel like an event of their own. Circa’s 60th-floor lounge combines an indoor room with an outdoor terrace and firepit seating, giving the evening a broad skyline backdrop. It offers a different perspective from a lower Fremont rooftop: come for the height and city panorama rather than close-up street action. The bookable sunset experiences make it easy to give the visit a purpose, but choose the particular option carefully if outdoor seating is essential.

Neighbourhood
Circa, at the western end of Fremont Street.
Setting
60th-floor indoor lounge and outdoor terrace with firepits.

Planning
21+ property; tables and sunset experiences have their own booking terms.
Commonwealth’s vintage-style bar interior in downtown Las Vegas02Downtown
525 Fremont Street · Fremont East

Commonwealth

Vintage bar atmosphere followed by rooftop energy

Commonwealth is a useful choice for a night that should feel firmly rooted in Fremont East. Its two-storey layout combines vintage cocktail-bar styling with a rooftop dance-floor setting, so the appeal is both the room and the surrounding neon streetscape. It suits a sociable group that wants the evening to build rather than remain a quiet seated drink. The event programme is important to that decision: check what is scheduled, and pick a different bar if you are looking for uninterrupted conversation.

Neighbourhood
Fremont East, 525 Fremont Street.
Setting
Two-storey cocktail bar with a rooftop dance floor.

Planning
Check the event calendar, admission and rooftop access for your date.
The Laundry Room’s intimate interior with velvet seating, small tables and framed portraits03Downtown
Inside Commonwealth · Fremont East

The Laundry Room

An intimate, reservation-led cocktail experience

The Laundry Room is the counterpoint to a spontaneous big-group bar crawl. Hidden within Commonwealth, it admits just 16 guests, with a cocktail-focused format that makes a small party and a deliberate booking the natural fit. Its appeal is the sense of a separate little room within busy downtown nightlife, rather than a large floor or a view. Choose it when the drinks and company are the main occasion. Treat admission as something to arrange in advance, not something automatically included in a Commonwealth visit.

Neighbourhood
Inside Commonwealth, 525 Fremont Street.
Format
A hidden cocktail room limited to 16 guests.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Planning
Separate reservation process; check availability and seating conditions directly.

917 East Fremont Street · Fremont East

Atomic Liquors

Downtown character and a historic Vegas bar stop

Atomic Liquors gives the list a welcome change of pace from skyline lounges and hidden rooms. The venue traces its story to 1952 and places itself on East Fremont, making it a good stop for visitors interested in the older layers of Las Vegas as well as a drink. The appeal is an established bar with its own history and identity, rather than another resort lounge. Include it as a destination on your route: it is farther east than the main Fremont canopy, so check the address instead of assuming everything downtown is next door.

Neighbourhood
Fremont East, 917 East Fremont Street.
Character
Longstanding downtown bar; the venue dates its service to 1952.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Planning
Current beverage menu, kitchen information and bar calendar are on the official site.
An Oak & Ivy bartender using a torch to finish a cocktail, photographed for Container Park05Downtown
Downtown Container Park · 707 Fremont Street

Oak & Ivy

Whiskey-led cocktails during a Container Park visit

Oak & Ivy belongs on the shortlist for drinkers who want a cocktail with a clear craft focus rather than a large nightclub setting. Its official description centres on whiskey, classic mixology, barrel-aged creations and seasonal ingredients, while the Container Park location gives the stop a distinctive setting. It is a good way to build a downtown visit around more than one kind of venue, with the wider park nearby. Choose it for a considered drink and check the current menu; do not assume a tiny cocktail stop can absorb a large group without planning.

Neighbourhood
Downtown Container Park, 707 Fremont Street.
Drinks
American craft whiskey and cocktails, including barrel-aged creations.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Planning
Use the bar’s own menu and hours rather than the park’s general retail schedule.
Guests enjoying Velveteen Rabbit’s outdoor seating and striped umbrellas in the Arts District06Downtown
1218 South Main Street · Arts District

Velveteen Rabbit

Seasonal cocktails in the Arts District

Velveteen Rabbit is the choice for visitors who want the Arts District to be part of their downtown evening. The official drinks page highlights seasonal cocktails alongside house drinks, beer, wine and non-alcoholic choices, giving the menu a reason to explore beyond a familiar standard order. It earns its place as a different kind of destination from the Fremont cluster: plan to spend time in this neighbourhood rather than rushing over for a photograph. Check the current menu and ask the bartender for a style that suits your taste.

Neighbourhood
Arts District, 1218 South Main Street.
Drinks
Seasonal and house cocktails, plus non-alcoholic options, beer and wine.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Planning
Treat the Arts District as a separate part of your downtown route.
A flair bartender entertaining guests at LONGBAR inside the D07Downtown
the D Las Vegas · Fremont Street

LONGBAR

Flair bartenders and a lively casino-floor drink

LONGBAR brings the casino-floor version of downtown into the selection. The long counter, flair bartenders, video poker and sports screens make it a better choice for people who enjoy activity around their drink than those seeking a hushed cocktail appointment. It is an easy contrast to the D’s Fremont Street frontage: step inside for an energetic bar stop rather than another outdoor wander. Choose it for the social casino atmosphere, and ask about seats and screen coverage if a particular game is part of your plan.

Neighbourhood
The D casino floor on Fremont Street.
Character
Long bar with flair bartending, sports screens and bar-top video poker.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Planning
A lively casino setting; confirm seats and the specific broadcast if watching sport.
Gold Spike’s illuminated main bar and lounge in downtown Las Vegas08Downtown
217 Las Vegas Boulevard North · Downtown

Gold Spike

Games, casual lounging and a night that gets livelier

Gold Spike earns its place for a group that wants something to do between drinks. Its lounge mixes comfortable seating and games with an after-dark programme that can shift the mood towards dancing. That makes it a useful alternative to both a formal cocktail bar and a casino bar: the reason to visit is the social space itself. Decide which version of the venue you want before going, because a relaxed daytime meet-up and a busy late-night DJ session are different evenings in the same address.

Neighbourhood
Las Vegas Boulevard North, a short distance from Fremont Street.
Character
Lounge seating, interactive games and a changing nightlife programme.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Entry
21+ at all times; check late-night covers and event arrangements.
Corduroy’s vintage music posters and rock-and-roll wall art09Downtown
Fremont East · Downtown

Corduroy

Retro rock-and-roll style and a less formal cocktail stop

Corduroy is the pick for visitors who want Fremont East character with a playful retro edge. Its rock-and-roll styling, vintage-inspired surroundings and house-made ginger beer give it an identity beyond a generic neon drinks stop. It suits a casual group that would rather explore a lively neighbourhood bar than reserve a polished resort lounge. The calendar can include different participatory nights, so match the visit to your mood. Come for the room, the cocktails and the downtown setting; do not assume every event is a live band.

Neighbourhood
Fremont East, downtown Las Vegas.
Character
Retro rock-and-roll bar with vintage-inspired decor.
Practical details & Vegas Bible tip
Drinks
House-made ginger beer and cocktails; consult the current menu.
The colourful karaoke stage and dance floor at Cat’s Meow in Neonopolis10Downtown
Neonopolis · 450 Fremont Street, Suite 201

Cat’s Meow

A karaoke night where the group becomes the entertainment

Cat’s Meow gives the downtown list an unapologetically participatory option. Instead of finding a quiet table and listening to someone else’s set, your group can build the evening around public-stage karaoke, hosts and cheering on whoever takes the microphone. The upstairs Neonopolis location puts it close to Fremont Street activity, but its karaoke-club format is a destination in its own right. Pick it when singing is the point of the night; choose another bar if your group mainly wants background music and an uninterrupted conversation.

Neighbourhood
Second floor of Neonopolis, 450 Fremont Street, Suite 201.
Format
Public-stage karaoke with hosts; this is not a live-band lounge.

Planning
Open seven nights; admission and group packages have separate terms.

Best bars in downtown Las Vegas: your questions

Are downtown Las Vegas bars all on Fremont Street?

No. This guide includes Circa and Fremont East, plus Velveteen Rabbit in the Arts District on South Main Street. Even along Fremont, the canopy, Commonwealth, Container Park and Atomic are different stops. Check the exact address and choose a manageable route rather than assuming every venue is in one compact block.

Which downtown bars are best for a quiet cocktail?

The Laundry Room is the most deliberately intimate format here, with 16 guests and a separate reservation process. Oak & Ivy has a craft-cocktail focus, while Legacy Club offers a more polished high-floor setting. Atmosphere still depends on the night, seating and event programme; ask the venue if conversation is your priority.

Which downtown bars have a rooftop or view?

Legacy Club offers a high-floor city panorama and an outdoor terrace. Commonwealth’s rooftop is lower, with a Fremont streetscape and a nightlife focus. These are different experiences, and neither should be mistaken for a guaranteed close-up central Strip view. Confirm outdoor access and the specific seating included in any reservation.

Do I need reservations or tickets?

The Laundry Room has its own booking process, distinct from Commonwealth. Legacy Club sells particular seating and sunset experiences. Commonwealth’s admission can depend on its event programme. Other bars may suit a more spontaneous stop, but larger groups should contact them first. Check cancellation rules, minimum spends, covers and what a booking actually includes.

Can I take children to these downtown bars?

Do not assume a downtown bar is family-friendly because nearby streets or shops are. Circa is a 21+ property, including its bars. Other venues and special events have their own entry rules, and Container Park’s general access policy is separate from alcohol service or a bar’s admission. Check the specific venue and bring valid identification.
