Free live music in Las Vegas
Fremont Street Experience is a useful starting point for free live music downtown: its three outdoor stages host scheduled bands and other entertainment on ordinary nights. Pick an actual set from the official calendar. Special celebrations such as New Year’s Eve can be ticketed; free admission does not include drinks or a reserved seat.
Live bands on the Las Vegas Strip
Losers Bar at MGM Grand is a country-music option for guests aged 21+, with no food service. The Barbershop at The Cosmopolitan mixes bands, acoustic sets, karaoke and themed nights in a hidden saloon. Choose a named band date if live musicians are the reason you are going; its cover and table prices vary by event.
Dueling piano bars & casino lounges
Bar at Times Square at New York-New York suits a lively singalong; Encore’s Eastside Lounge offers dueling pianos in a more polished lounge setting. A bar can open hours before its musicians start. Compare the entertainment timetable and seating arrangements rather than treating every opening hour as a live performance.

Live music in Las Vegas: useful answers
Where can I hear live music in Las Vegas tonight?
Use “What’s on now” for venues with a published performance window, or “Choose day & time” for a later set. All times are local to Las Vegas, even when you browse from the UK. Check “All live music” too: a venue with a changing calendar or unconfirmed finish time may be excluded from the timed results.
How does the Las Vegas live music calendar work?
This venue finder uses published recurring performance schedules. A day-and-time match helps you shortlist somewhere to go; the venue’s dated calendar supplies the actual performer, one-off events and changes. It is not a complete concert calendar or a live stage feed. Use the official programme for your travel date before making a special journey.
Where is there free live music downtown Las Vegas?
Start with Fremont Street Experience’s ordinary public-stage programme. The official calendar identifies the performers and stages, so you can choose a set rather than wander between silent stages. Check event conditions: a ticketed New Year’s Eve celebration is different from a normal free evening.
What time do the dueling pianos start?
New York-New York currently publishes Bar at Times Square pianos daily from 8pm to 2am. Encore lists Eastside Lounge from 9:30pm, ending at 1:30am Sunday–Thursday and 2:30am Friday–Saturday. These are published performance windows, not promises of uninterrupted playing; recheck private-event and holiday changes.
Can I find afternoon live music on the Strip?
Losers Bar at MGM Grand publishes live music from 3pm to 1am daily, with set breaks possible. For Big Elvis at Harrah’s Piano Bar, check the named show and its date separately: afternoon Elvis performances and the bar’s evening piano programme are different sessions.
Do live-music bars charge admission or require a reservation?
It depends on the venue and event. The Barbershop explicitly says covers and table prices vary by night; a table reservation and standing entry can have different terms. Confirm any cover, minimum spend, seat reservation and age rule before arranging the group around a particular performance.
Is a live-music bar the same as a Las Vegas concert or nightclub?
No. A casino lounge or music bar can combine several sets with drinks and breaks; a residency or concert has its own dated ticket. DJ nights and karaoke also differ from a live band. Use our show and nightclub guides when a particular headliner or DJ is the main booking.
