Best cheap eats in Las Vegas

16 Vegas Bible picksStrip & downtown focus
Explore the recommendations
PERSONALLY CURATED BY VEGAS BIBLE

Big Vegas appetite.
Smaller food budget.

These sixteen Vegas Bible picks keep the search to the Strip and downtown. Some are simple counter-service stops; others earn their place through a specific lunch or happy-hour offer. We have shown verified prices where the official venue publishes them, and kept the conditions beside the deal. A cheap slice and a full sit-down lunch are different purchases, so choose for your appetite as well as the headline price.

Official restaurant sources checked 31 October 2026. These are editorial recommendations, not a ranking based on personal visits or paid placement. Menus, prices and arrangements can change.
THE VEGAS BIBLE VALUE BOARD

Less on the bill.
More flavour in your day.

Three different food buys, rather than like-for-like meals. Published prices checked 31 October 2026; confirm current menus. Tax, tip and extras may be additional.

Earl of Sandwich at Planet Hollywood from the restaurant’s official location page01Counter-service sandwiches
For a straightforward meal between plans
Planet Hollywood · Centre Strip

Earl of Sandwich

For a straightforward meal between plans

Earl of Sandwich is our practical centre-Strip pick when you want to spend on the rest of the day rather than a long restaurant meal. Hot sandwiches give you a clear, familiar starting point, and the Planet Hollywood location is convenient for a busy sightseeing day. We recommend it for a quick lunch or casual evening stop where the order stays simple. Compare the sandwich alone with any sides, drink or combination before deciding what represents value for you.

The value & the conditions

Budget approach: a hot sandwich and only the extras you want. Check current Planet Hollywood prices on the counter or linked menu.

An official In-N-Out burger meal with fries and a drink02Burgers & fries
For a familiar burger stop on the Strip
LINQ Promenade · Centre Strip

In-N-Out Burger · LINQ Promenade

For a familiar burger stop on the Strip

The LINQ Promenade In-N-Out is an easy recommendation for a burger meal that keeps the experience casual. The concise menu helps you choose without a long list of premium upgrades, and its central location makes it useful while walking between resorts. We include it for travellers who want a simple burger-and-fries stop rather than another sit-down occasion. The popularity can mean a queue, so treat the convenience of the location separately from the time it takes to get your food.

The value & the conditions

Budget approach: compare a burger on its own with the full meal. Local prices are shown at the restaurant; this LINQ location has dine-in and patio seating.

Tacos El Gordo’s Las Vegas Boulevard location03Counter-service tacos
For a flexible, order-as-you-go taco meal
3041 S Las Vegas Boulevard · North Strip

Tacos El Gordo · Las Vegas Boulevard

For a flexible, order-as-you-go taco meal

Tacos El Gordo makes the list for giving a budget-conscious north-Strip day a food stop with a distinct identity. Ordering tacos lets you build the meal around your appetite rather than commit to a large restaurant bill. We would choose the Las Vegas Boulevard location for a casual lunch or evening bite while already in the area. Count the tacos, drinks and any extras you actually want before comparing the total with another meal; several small items can add up.

The value & the conditions

Budget approach: choose your taco selection and check the current per-item prices before adding sides or a drink.

The record-lined hallway leading to Secret Pizza at The Cosmopolitan04Pizza by the slice
For a quick bite with a little Vegas discovery
The Cosmopolitan · Centre Strip

Secret Pizza

For a quick bite with a little Vegas discovery

Secret Pizza is our quick-bite choice when you want something informal within a major Strip resort. The unmarked counter and record-lined approach make finding your slice part of the outing. We recommend it for a light meal or a stop between plans, rather than a relaxed full-service dinner. A slice can keep the order focused, but compare the current counter prices and the number of slices you need before treating it as a complete budget meal.

The value & the conditions

Budget approach: compare a slice order with a whole pie if several people are eating. Current prices are displayed at the counter.

Shake Shack at New York-New York05Burgers & quick meals
For a casual south-Strip alternative
New York-New York · South Strip

Shake Shack

For a casual south-Strip alternative

Shake Shack is a useful south-Strip choice for a straightforward burger meal near The Park and New York-New York. We include it because it offers a clear change of pace from a full-service resort dinner: order the main you want, then decide whether fries, a shake or other extras fit the budget. It works well for a casual meal before moving on with the day, rather than as a special trip across town solely to find the lowest possible price.

The value & the conditions

Budget approach: keep the order simple; adding fries, shakes and drinks changes the total. Use the current New York-New York menu.

The Las Vegas Taco Bell Cantina at Harmon Corner06Counter-service tacos & burritos
For a straightforward central-Strip food stop
3717 S Las Vegas Boulevard · Centre Strip

Taco Bell Cantina · Harmon Corner

For a straightforward central-Strip food stop

The Harmon Corner Cantina makes the list as a practical option when you want a simple order without a full-service restaurant bill. Tacos, burritos and quesadillas keep the choice familiar, while the Las Vegas setting gives this branch more personality than a typical roadside stop. We would use it for a casual break near the centre of the Strip, choosing food first and treating the specialty alcoholic drinks as a separate decision. It is a quick-service recommendation rather than a destination Mexican dinner.

The value & the conditions

Compare the current local menu and meal combinations before ordering. Specialty drinks and premium additions can make a small food order substantially more expensive; national promotions may not apply.

A margherita pizza from Pin-up Pizza’s official gallery07Large slices & casual seating
For a substantial slice beside the Strip
Planet Hollywood · Centre Strip

Pin-up Pizza

For a substantial slice beside the Strip

Pin-up Pizza is a useful option when a slice is the meal you want rather than a small extra before dinner. Its Planet Hollywood position makes it practical during a central-Strip walk, with indoor counter seating and an outdoor patio for a casual pause. We recommend comparing the slice and topping you actually want before adding a drink or sides. The appeal is a simple, sizeable pizza stop without committing to a whole pie or a full restaurant booking.

The value & the conditions

The official venue describes New York-style hand-tossed slices and lists the restaurant in its lower price category. Check the current slice price; premium toppings and drinks are separate purchases.

La Salsa Cantina at the Miracle Mile Shops08Sit-down breakfast & Mexican food
For checking a breakfast offer before committing
Miracle Mile Shops · Planet Hollywood · Strip

La Salsa Cantina

For checking a breakfast offer before committing

La Salsa Cantina adds another sit-down option in the middle of the Strip, particularly for travellers comparing a straightforward breakfast with the cost of resort dining. It also gives a group a Mexican-food choice later in the day. We recommend it as a menu-and-offer comparison stop, rather than calling every meal or large cocktail a bargain. Read the current entrance board and menu before sitting down, and keep the food decision separate from the tempting drinks and upgrades.

The value & the conditions

The Miracle Mile directory confirms breakfast, lunch and dinner at Suite 380. A specific current low-price breakfast package is not verified here: ask what is available, when it ends and what drinks or extras cost.

Pizza at Evel Pie on Fremont Street09Slices & Fremont character
For a downtown slice with personality
508 Fremont Street · Downtown

Evel Pie

For a downtown slice with personality

Evel Pie earns our downtown slice recommendation for pairing a simple food stop with a setting that has personality. The Evel Knievel theme and Fremont Street location make it feel part of a Vegas night rather than a generic food-court purchase. Start with a classic slice when the budget matters most, or compare a whole pie for a group. We include it for a casual bite, with the current official menu giving a useful way to compare the basic and more elaborate toppings.

The value & the conditions

Official menu checked 31 October: cheese slice $5.75; pepperoni slice $6.25. Whole-pie and specialty prices differ; extras, tax and any tip are additional.

Pizza Rock in downtown Las Vegas10Time-limited pizza value
For a sit-down pizza deal at the right time
Downtown Las Vegas

Pizza Rock · Happy Hour

For a sit-down pizza deal at the right time

Pizza Rock is our time-specific value choice rather than a claim that its full menu is always cheap. The official happy-hour food menu makes it possible to plan a downtown stop around a personal pizza, with clear conditions attached. We would use it when the published hours fit the day and the group wants a restaurant setting instead of a takeaway counter. Outside that window, compare the normal menu and portions rather than assuming the promotional price applies.

The value & the conditions

Published happy hour: Monday–Thursday, 3–6pm; personal cheese pizza $8 and pepperoni or one topping $9.50. Excludes holidays and special events; tax, drinks and tips are extra.

A yellow curry lunch from Le Thai’s official downtown restaurant gallery11Weekday sit-down lunch
For a proper meal with a clear lunch price
523 Fremont Street · Downtown

Le Thai · Downtown Lunch

For a proper meal with a clear lunch price

Le Thai gives the guide a full-service downtown meal that is worth timing around the weekday lunch menu. It suits someone who wants a curry or stir-fry and a pause from sightseeing, rather than another burger or pizza slice. We recommend it specifically for the published lunch format: that is the value proposition, while dinner and other menu choices should be judged separately. The Fremont Street location makes it a practical stop during a downtown day.

The value & the conditions

Published lunch special: $13.50 Monday–Friday, 11am–3pm, including a fountain drink. Shrimp and Thai tea or coffee upgrades cost more; check current terms, tax and tip.

Guests enjoying hot dogs at American Coney Island at The D12Chili dogs & quick bites
For a downtown snack with a little history
The D · Fremont Street · Downtown

American Coney Island

For a downtown snack with a little history

American Coney Island is our pick for keeping a Fremont Street food stop simple: a Detroit-style chili dog, a short order and then back to the evening. The D’s location puts it beside the action rather than requiring a separate journey for a bargain. We recommend it as a snack or modest casual meal, rather than presenting one hot dog as a substitute for everyone’s dinner. It also gives the shortlist an alternative to another pizza slice or burger.

The value & the conditions

The signature order combines a sausage hot dog with chili, mustard and chopped onions. Compare the current menu for your full order, including fries or drinks; no fixed meal price is promised here.

Lanai Express at Fremont Hotel & Casino13Chinese & American counter food
For a casual meal beyond burgers and slices
Fremont Hotel & Casino · Downtown

Lanai Express

For a casual meal beyond burgers and slices

Lanai Express broadens the shortlist with a practical Chinese-and-American counter option inside the Fremont. We would choose it when the group wants a straightforward food stop with table seating, rather than booking a restaurant or buying another round of slices. Its appeal is convenience and a menu that lets you choose a modest order. Keep expectations aligned with the quick-service format, and compare the complete plate you want rather than assuming every item costs the same as the advertised shrimp cocktail.

The value & the conditions

The official venue page lists a $3.99 shrimp cocktail alongside Chinese dishes, hot dogs, hamburgers and salads. That is the price of the cocktail, not a full meal; confirm the current board and any extras.

Magnolia’s Veranda dining room at Four Queens14Sit-down comfort food
For a proper table and daily-special choices
Four Queens · Downtown

Magnolia’s Veranda

For a proper table and daily-special choices

Magnolia’s Veranda earns a place for travellers who want value to mean sitting down for a meal, rather than always eating at a counter. The dining room overlooks the Four Queens casino floor, giving it an unmistakably downtown setting. Its broad comfort-food menu and daily specials make it a useful place to compare options when the group wants different things. We would focus on a straightforward meal or the day’s offer, then check the total before adding drinks, starters or a premium main.

The value & the conditions

The official restaurant lists daily food specials and dishes including ham steak and eggs, chicken gumbo, a double cheeseburger with fries and prime rib. These have different prices; check the current menu and any eligibility rules.

Steak ’n Shake at the Fremont Food Hall15Burgers & food-hall value
For a downtown burger order you can keep simple
Fremont Hotel & Casino · Downtown

Steak ’n Shake · Fremont Food Hall

For a downtown burger order you can keep simple

The Fremont Food Hall branch of Steak ’n Shake is a useful burger option when the group wants casual food without arranging a full restaurant meal. We include it for the ability to build a straightforward order around a Steakburger and fries, while having other food-hall choices nearby for friends with different tastes. Keep the budget focused on the meal you actually want: a shake or extra toppings can be worthwhile, but they are additions rather than automatic parts of a bargain.

The value & the conditions

Steakburgers, fries and milkshakes are the core draw. Compare the on-site menu and current combinations; a promotional single-patty meal should not be treated as the price of every burger-and-shake order.

Wana Taco at Four Queens in downtown Las Vegas16Street tacos & quick Mexican bites
For choosing a clear taco order near Fremont Street
Four Queens · 3rd Street entrance · Downtown

Wana Taco

For choosing a clear taco order near Fremont Street

Wana Taco makes the list as a compact downtown stop for a taco order rather than a lengthy sit-down meal. The Four Queens location is convenient when you are exploring Fremont Street and want something different from burgers, pizza or a chili dog. Choose the portion that suits your appetite and compare it with the combinations on the menu. We would keep the order focused, since extra toppings, sides and bottled drinks can change the value of an apparently simple snack.

The value & the conditions

The official restaurant lists carne asada, carnitas and chicken street tacos, nachos and Mexican sweet corn. Its linked menu gives item and combination prices; confirm the current board before ordering.

BEFORE YOU PICK YOUR TABLE

Your questions, answered.

Can I eat cheaply on the Las Vegas Strip?

A simple sandwich, burger or slice order can cost less than a full-service resort dinner. Compare the actual meal you need, including drinks and sides. This guide uses specific Strip locations so you can choose somewhere near your plans.

Which cheap-eat deals have official published prices?

At the time checked, Evel Pie listed a $5.75 cheese slice. Pizza Rock advertised an $8 personal cheese pizza during its Monday–Thursday 3–6pm happy hour, excluding holidays and special events. Le Thai listed a $13.50 weekday 11am–3pm lunch special including a fountain drink. Check the current offer before travelling.

Are these all sit-down restaurants?

No. The service-style badges distinguish counter-service burgers, sandwiches and slices from restaurant meals. Le Thai’s weekday lunch and Pizza Rock’s qualifying happy hour provide different options when you want to sit down.

Do the promotional prices include everything?

Read the venue’s terms. Tax, tip, drinks, toppings and upgrades may change the bill. A time-limited special should not be treated as the normal all-day price.

Should I travel across town for a small saving?

Factor in transport cost and time. A nearby straightforward meal can represent better overall value than paying for a journey to save a few dollars on food.
